Musk, Bezos, Thiel, etc. are fools. They are merely oligarchs: people with a lot of money who are trying to leverage that to gain power. Trump, on the other hand is a kleptocrat: someone with power who uses it to gain money.
Oligarchs are a kleptocrat's natural prey. Musk is a gazelle who tried to control a lion, and now he's paying the price. He should get down on his hands and knees and thank God that Trump is a much less effective kleptocrat than Putin is; if he was a Russian oligarch, he'd be taking his own space flight right now, right out a skyscraper window!

And Schadenfreude, obviously. (Still, I was stoked to see the boosters landing for reuse and the “catch” by the Chopsicks was impressive). It’s hard to be an aerospace geek now that we know who these people really are, and apparently NASA will soon be a hollow shell.
