MY GUT HURTS WHEN I SENT MY CHECK TO THE IRS.

Madman Trump and his Republican followers are a disgrace. They disgust me and are not people I want to live with. They sadden and repulse me, and they support a government that seeks a dictator who talks about wiping out an entire population and sends billions of dollars to Israel, which has done to the Palestinians what Hitler did to the Jews. They also believe that a private army wearing face masks can seize people and deport them without any legal process. They are not my people; he is a mentally incompetent and disturbed man whom the Republicans are willing to accept and support. They like living in Trump's world, and I despise it.

I am a frightened man who spent the last week worried that the crazy man in the White House, who controls the largest army in the world, would destroy a country with a population of 90 million people. He is not my president; he is their president, the Republicans in our country who did not return to Washington when Trump declared his intent to commit war crimes. We talk about war crimes, but we go brain-dead about the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians.

Thinking that things will change after the next election is a false hope. We would have a slim majority over the Republicans, but they will still be around, ready to take back control in the next election. Their mentality will remain the same.

I have been hoping that my state of Massachusetts would find a way to help me avoid sending my money to a government I despise. But our governor has been hiding and avoiding her responsibility to protect her citizens.

It is scary to acknowledge that nearly half of this country accepts and supports this government, which functions as an operating dictatorship. But this is our world, this is our reality, and we have to make essential decisions about our future. The scary word that would resolve this condition has to be said and acknowledged: SECESSION. We can no longer be the United States of America, but we can be the Republican States of America and the Democratic States of America. Two countries coexisting next to each other. The Republican state could have a dictatorship, which could allow masked hoodlums to roam its streets, move toward a white Christian society, and reduce social services. Its dictator could remove it from NATO, support Israel, and construct monuments to himself. They seem very at ease with being ruled by billionaires and accept corruption. Go ahead and enjoy yourself. I want none of these conditions. Their armies will consist of soldiers from their states, not from the Democratic state.

I want nothing to do with the Republicans. They want to live in a world different from mine, so be it. I want nothing to do with them. They can have their world, their government, and their dictator.

I want a democratic country with a government that takes care of all its citizens by providing a national healthcare system, a reasonable retirement plan, housing, and social services for all. I want to support Ukraine and not support Israel. I want gun control, universal suffrage, respect for all, and religious freedom.

I do not want to have anything to do with Republicans. Again, SECESSION IS THE ONLY WAY.

I have considered the possibility that not much will actually change when/if the House is turned back over to the Dems, and slight possibilities they may have a majority in the Senate. I had a discussion with others recently where they commented after the Dems get the House all they will do is impeach and bicker even more with the Republicans. I asked them, what exactly is going to change? Yes they will impeach and they have my approval and they will do various investigations, but trump will not sign one single bill of the Dems pass it. And when they do investigations in the House and/or Senate they will be met with subpoenas that will not be honored. And we will still have a DOJ that will not investigate any contempt of Congress charges. So what will change?

Seldon Crisis Log's avatar

Exactly. People keep saying Dems will finally have subpoena power if the win back congress but Trump admin will not honor subpoenas nor will the DOJ enforce them.

I doubt Trump and Johnson even allow a Dem house to be seated but we’ll see.

The place needs a fucking scrub down and decontamination.

What will change is the republicans will not be able to pass the rest of the Project 2025!!!! They will be able to STOP them from giving Trump bills that take away money from needed programs, the middle class, the poor, education etc!!!!!!

Sunnygirl58's avatar

Deb,

Deb,

Trump has already taken away and stripped down the social programs that help the poor and middle class through the BBB, which the Dems in 2027 will be unable to undo. Those programs are in the works. Likewise most of trump’s project 2025 destructiveness is being implemented through his illegal executive orders. He has already shown us that he doesn’t intend to give Congress its constitutional powers because he is overreaching his own executive powers written in the constitution. IOW, the man does what he wants with a weakened Congress and a weakened judiciary. How do the Dems stop him? He will simply impose more executive orders to counter any power they display. And how do you get the DOJ to enforce the laws he is breaking? He has defied 35% of the judicial decisions against him. Is he going to stop doing that when the Dems get “control” of the House?

I honestly hope you are correct and I am wrong about the Dems. I just lack envisioning how it plays out in real time.

This administration does prove that the fractured, fun house world of the Republicans has nothing to do with the reasoned and compassionate world of everybody else.

This country could never stand as originally formulated. It was founded with slavery and inequality baked in. The rights of the few at the expense of everyone else is the model and it must implode from within if it hasn’t already.

Pamela S.'s avatar

Precisely. It’s quite amazing, actually, that it lasted a quarter if a millennium. But it’s over now.

A Bob Dylan song just came on. “Don’t think twice it’s alright”.

Since I wrote that, my ear worm is, “oh well I used to love her…but it’s all over now…”🎵

American Tune should be played at this country’s funeral.

Paul Simon crushed it.

We are all feeling it 😕

"Oh, but I'm alright, I'm alright

I'm just weary to my bones"

Can you imagine if all the blue states succeeded! The red states would just drown in their own filth.

Gloria Wetzel's avatar

I sympathize with everything but your answer isn’t practical.

Tim Norton's avatar

The Revolution wasn’t practical either but when is needed sacrifice practical?

We agree. We’ve advocated for succession since 2024.

Her opening lies are hilarious however, her call for victim testimony is sadistic. All that would be is an opportunity to re-traumatize the survivors. Just release the damn files with all testimony they have already given. Seriously, it’s insulting how stupid they think we are.

Boudica's avatar

Testimony from the victims not the same as sworn testimony from the accused. No one needs to hear from the victims. We need to hear from the men who participated.

Getting out ahead of something big.

Excellent. It's a ruse. Congress does not have the power to compel testimony, enforce subpoenas, or implement consequences. Ask Biden. If he hadn't punted Jan 6 to Congress, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Trump controls the docs. DOJ is complicit. The only thing Congress can do is further humiliate the witnesses. We need a DOJ, not a circus show.

Agree Do not trust this trap

Excerpt:

“It sounds like support for accountability.

It is the opposite.

Sworn testimony from Epstein’s victims is not the same thing as unredacted files naming co-conspirators.

Victim hearings are sympathetic, controllable, and redirect the conversation from “release all the files” — which the DOJ is actively resisting — to “let survivors speak” — which gives the administration a talking point while the unredacted files stay locked”

Trust no one around Trump.

If they could be trusted they would have abandoned him long ago!

Perhaps the reported passage in a new book just published by British author Andrew Loney, referencing Epstein’s claim that he had sex with Melania a year before she started dating Donnie may have had something to do with her little speech.

Got a link? Not finding that book anywhere. (!?)

Oh yeah. I almost forgot - Trump raped children

Even reading about whores & grifters is turning g into one unending run-on sentence. Let’s put the whole sack of rats behind bars permanently so that the government can start leaning house of this filthy mess.

Your take is spot-on. As someone who remembers Nixon's pseudo-magnanimous televised offer to provide ready-made transcripts of his White House tapes in lieu of the primary sources, I agree that we're looking at another attempted "qualified limited hangout."

Heather Melton Fox's avatar

In fairness to Melania, no other First Lady in history has had to take time away from their official duties to discuss their client list from when they were a hooker. Lame Stream Media indeed!!!!!

Jeff L.'s avatar

Or….Michael Wolfe is about to drop a story that Melania doesn’t like.

Occam’s Razor: keep it simple.

This piece doesn’t explain the strangely specific parts of the statement. How she met Trump. How she didn’t really know Maxwell. How an email is perfunctory, not intimate.

But spin it into a conspiracy if you wanna.
