All credible media in the WH press corps - to the extent they’re still present - need to circle their wagons and unify against this corrupt outlaw administration. Make sure that, if one reporter gets stiff armed by Leavitt, the next reporter asks the same question again. And again. And again. Their indignation and fury against her continued gaslighting and deflections should be palpable and white hot. If she continues to dig her heels in, the press corps’ angry cacophony should drive her scrambling from the podium, the look of stark terror shining in her eyes. Reality is serious fucking business and so is accurately and truthfully observing and reporting on it. And if some dimwitted Krasnovian sycophant like Leavitt thinks she can fiddle fuck around with reality, she deserves a harsh reality check from an audience that will remind her of this seriousness in no uncertain terms…

That idea of one questioner picking up from another, that's getting some play now, is such a good one. I heard it employed yesterday at some meeting with a representative. When the press corps is full of Trumpers, though, good luck. However, the whole idea of coordinating actions to take is so right for now, as people are coming out of feeling helpless to being angry enough to not take it anymore. That said, people are looking for leadership that isn't there. How to get us coordinated and organized to create a massive force for the good, where we-the-people end-run around government, is what my Substack is all about!

The most serious damage caused by Trump/MAGA as been to the bedrock assumption of society that words mean something, that facts are distinct from falsehoods, that truth matters.

Book XIII of the Analects of Confucius, relates the following exchange in §3 (with apologies to DC Lau for my edits):

Tzu-lu said, 'If the Lord of Wei left the administration of his state to you, what would you put first?'

The Master said, 'If something has to be put first, it is, perhaps, the rectification of names.'

Tzu-lu said, 'Is that so? What a roundabout way you take! Why bring rectification in at all?'

The Master said, 'Yu, how boorish you are. Where a person is ignorant, one would expect them not to offer any opinion.

When names are not correct, what is said will not sound reasonable;

when what is said does not sound reasonable, affairs will not culminate in success;

when affairs do not culminate in success, rites and music will not flourish;

when rites and music do not flourish, punishments will not fit the crimes;

when punishments do not fit the crimes, the common people will not know where to put hand and foot.

Thus when [a person of integrity] names something, the name is sure to be usable in speech, and when they say something this is sure to be practicable. The thing about the [person of integrity] is that they are anything but casual where speech is concerned.'

I love it when relevant thought from the past is brought forward for our enlightenment. We humans have confronted these issues many times.

This whole thing would be farcical if it wasn't so bloody horrifying. These idiots with their 12 year old intellects are TikToking the classified war plans of the largest, most sophisticated military in the history of the world, with fist bump emojis. These are the people who have their fingers on the big red button. It's insane, even for the Trump administration. So many questions; who the hell put these utterly unqualified morons in charge? Why are they discussing this on an app? What kind of F-tard includes a journalist of all people? Who are these people that use emojis to talk about national security and call Europeans "Freeloading" and "PATHETIC" in caps? How dare they proceed to lie about this and attempt to write it off as a non-event when they've been caught red handed? Why have Vance and Waltz not been instantly fired? We live in very bizarre and dangerous times if this can pass as 'nothing to see here' business as usual.

Agree. The administration moved from ‘never happened’ (straight up denial) to ‘nothing to get excited about’ (gaslighting) then did what they always do now and went into attack mode. Goldberg was called sleazy and a liar and pretty much accused of treason. He didn’t go looking for this, they dropped it on him! And actually he was very restrained. Waiting until the op was over, fact checking and redacting what he considered too sensitive. He really was the only grown-up on that chat.

“ a national security breach so catastrophic it should have already resulted in multiple resignations”. I would add “and, failing resignations, prompt firings.” (Impeachment in Vance ‘s case.)

For them, speaking truth is suicidal. They would have nothing to live for.

Funny, you trying to help us understand “fundamental reality,” when you don’t have a very sane grasp of it lately.
