I like your flexible yet steady take on what’s going on in the world today. There are so many layers to factor in. One of them is our own elitism – and our condescending, though not entirely unfair, view of those who, against their better judgment, throw their support behind depraved clowns. I actually touched on that in a recent post: https://maxkern.substack.com/p/to-my-maga-friends-if-i-even-have?r=3bp1hq
Quite so. This is why leaders implore us to extend an ear and an encouraging word, and to help construct a pathway to reality-based community working together. It has agency and fruitful action rather than excuses for empty and useless positions (cosplay) -- far more fulfilling than "identity politics", which only offers shallow and useless community based on reaction.
The Emperor has no clothes psychological dynamic is running rampant. So what will finally be the “voice” revealing what is true breaking through this insanity? Who will be the “have you no decency sir” that rises above so many screaming about the insanity and corruption?

Seems like a useful tribe to join. Where do I sign-up? 😉🙂
Reminds me of a review of Sagan's "Demon-haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark" by Richard Lewontin:
RL: "Conscientious and wholly admirable popularizers of science like Carl Sagan use both rhetoric and expertise to form the mind of masses because they believe, like the Evangelist John, that the truth shall make you free. But they are wrong. It is not the truth that makes you free. It is your possession of the power to discover the truth. Our dilemma is that we do not know how to provide that power."
