Yes, Kafka would recognize this moment. So would Nietzsche, who predicted something like this as a logical development over time, given the Will to Power. It seems the time has arrived. Tipping points everywhere we look.

No-one else writes a Substack quite like this, Mike. Please keep going.

So the vaunted separation of powers that we've counted on for about 240 years counts for nothing when we have one venal, cowardly political party whose members value power, and the next election, more than the Constitution and American society. If we're lucky the entire abomination known as the Trump administration will spell the end of the GOP.

The party, yes. Okay. The country, if the Constitution continues to be treated for the most part as words on paper, nothing more.

Co-opting Congress is a crucial obstacle to overcome for the NRx movement that has not just infiltrated MAGA. They appear to be working on achieving seven strategic objectives, to establish a post-democratic order. Besides co-opting Congress RAGE - Retire All Government Employees - is one of those - or, as it is now known: DOGE.

I’ve now forgotten where I read/watched it in the past week, but a pundit somewhere suggested that the US debt is so high, and its actions so antithetical to actually reducing that debt, that Trump is more likely to simply redefine what money / debt is.

The avoidance has been around for a long time now with gun control. Primarily by saying it's too early to talk about it after each new shooting. Time passes nothing happens until the next shooting and then again, it's too early. Healthcare similar, repeal Obamacare but never with an actual plan in hand that would be showing an actual idea of a better plan.

I think it would start the day he signed it, so it would be perpetually the 14th of March.

Yes, but finally the democrats are about to be a thing of the past. They are collapsing faster than a blowout. Good riddance.
