I loved what your guest had to say. It's refreshing to hear someone DARE to call a spade a spade without worrying about someone being too sensitive or worrying about being politically correct.

It's just that I can accept what IS in terms of our damaged int'l security structure AND still believe in regaining entry into that realm - for perhaps a small re-buy in. We may not have the same voice and influence or last say that we once enjoyed, but I actually think that'll be better in that we'll hopefully work more as a team with everyone having a relatively equal say and contribution to the whole of the world.

I myself have talked about being chooser with our use of technology, and catching up with our kids and aging parents or checking on a neighbor - get back to the face to face combos when we REALLY listen to their answer after we asked them how they're doing.

I'm working on an article about it.

And I totally agree with your opinion of Newsom based on his past choices and have also written a brutally honest letter to him. I've let him know he may have only one more chance to redeem himself before I vote for a man with convictions and principles similar to a Mike Pence, even though I hope I never have to. You see, Newsom has proposed a budget cut to our own state's Medicaid (Medi-Cal), while he rakes Trump over the coals for it. Then THIS L.A. stuff happened and now he's stepping up, and that's great but l told him I need to figure out exactly what he stands for, and to be a man of consistent convictions. He might become more centrist, but if he shows no strength of character and changes direction like the wind he'll be done for.

Thank you for your words about connecting with each other again, facing and accepting the reality of change and seeing loss as a chance to construct something better.

With these continual references to Nazism in the 30’s, the current dictator Putin isn’t given enough attention. Optimism is great but for someone who wants to state clearly what is really happening, it’s a mistake to think that Trump doesn’t have time to upend democracy. It’s known in Europe that Putin is behind Trump and is also involved in destabilizing democracy in other countries. Putin and the Silicon billionaires are entirely capable of facilitating the end of democracy. There is little left to stop Trump. Why do you minimize people’s concerns that democracy is seriously in danger ?

Mike, you need to rethink your position on Reagan and Clinton. The crux of what made Trump possible is the neoliberal economics both adopted that sold out the American Middle and Working Class. You

and Democrats must understand this simple fundamental point . Lets start with Reagan

Republicans have adopted Carl Schmitts Friend vs Enemy approach to Politics. In other words Politics as War and not Liberalisms Politics as Consensus Building. You are right. Democrats have to get in the Octagon and Rumble
