This is good, Mike. I've read many forms of this argument; your examples are not from the stock collection, the argument rendered more clearly by that novelty.

It's hard to get your mind into the frame to see it when the entire Western educational frame is inside the Cartesian theater. You've been programmed since kindergarten to use the Cartesian model as the starting frame for all inquiry, and so concepts like monism seem intuitively wrong to you for reasons you cannot even explain, because it is a metaphysical claim that erases the Cartesian theater itself — which is the primary cognitive technology you've been using your entire intellectual life.

But once somebody sees it — it's hard to unsee.

“I want to know what entitles us to assume that everything there is must have some equivalent way of reaching us”

Nothing entitles us to that… it has always seemed to me the height of intellectual hubris to claim that the only possible realities that can ever exist are those circumscribed by the human imagination.

It’s more likely (?) that there exist infinite realities that are beyond our ability to even imagine, never mind perceive.

An interesting article summarizing some interesting research related to this: https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/a73347570/quantum-consciousness-microtubules/

It's a merry tale of cross-discipline collaboration: "scientists like Tuszynski, Hameroff, Penrose, and Bandyopadhyay are engaging in this research because they suspect something about the nature of our consciousness is a lot bigger and more mysterious and potentially mind-blowing than just data in and data out like a computer."
