I will not be celebrating on July 4th. I will be celebrating when the Republicans are gone from power. The founders of our country would have to put in induced comas to save their brains from exploding if they could see this country today. And that is the point. No one could possibly understand that the country of 1776 could get to what it is today. We need to change, institute and get rid of so many laws and regulations put in place when there was a complete lack of understanding of the Year 2026. It would be like us trying to make laws that would make sense in 2276.

We're not cooperating with autocracy here at our house. We've been holding message banners over I-95 twice a week for many months. Rain, shine freezing cold, snow up to our butts. I'm sending letters and boycotting bad actors to the pain and funding the real fighters with money saved by not buying shit on Amazon and canceled publications and services. I have my reps on speed dial. If it's a 250th pageant I'll likely help create and attend a counter-protest instead. This is war.
I just read the first few lines and already knew I had to comment, as I have been feeling this since Trump rigged the 2024 election to become President again. And as the date has drawn closer, I had hoped the ones with the legal power to stop this blatant destruction of democracy would’ve done their parts in driving the movement forward — but they haven’t. No military turning on POTUS and his Cabinet and removing their evil, incompetent asses from office as we install our new, chosen leaders. No Legislators finally growing a pair to stand up against the death threats and admit they sold their souls to the devil so they could sell us out too. So it has to be us. If we really want to celebrate 250 of TRUE INDEPENDENCE — it’s up to the people.
Trump did not rig the election. More people voted for him in spite of how obviously awful he is and always has been. I get that it is more comforting to believe that he rigged the election so that we don’t have to confront the fact that we live in a country where democracy has failed so thoroughly and spectacularly. But confront we must.
