As someone who bailed on social media in 2016 I agree with this, I'm back (here only) because I stand by my resistance to this regime and my commitment to the oath I took as a soldier to defend the constitution. You're the fuckin man Mike.
Mike, I’ve ready just about every post you have written since the Substack algorithm first made me aware of your brilliant, brave, concise and exquisitely important writing a few months ago… I don’t often comment because I don’t have any disagreement with your writing and I don’t want to waste any of your time reading yet another post simply endorsing what you have written. I generally limit my engagement to likes and the occasional restack. Also, it’s because I’m frightened that the gestapo will come kick in my door when they find out how much I agree with you 🤣🤣🤣 Keep up the good fight, sir. Your voice is valued and needed more with each passing day. Don’t give those who choose to post under an alias another thought. You have my permission -as if you need it. 😉
Mike it doesn't matter. Just don't engage. I may not be me in name but I am in soul. I won't engage because -- Why?
There is no point. This is not a debate, it is Your philosophy. it's yours.
If you want a debate I'm sure you are quite capable of asking for one and setting the rules (that most likely will be broken.) It doesn't matter, so ignore the bastards.
Feel like this might be partially directed at me, hehe. My name is Jeff Kesterson, I’m an American living in Minneapolis, my Twitter handle is jdkesterson, promise I’m not a bot. Though I suppose that’s exactly what a bot would say.
Now can you please offer some meaningful interaction with those of us who regard the US political establishment as irredeemable?
I agree wholeheartedly with what you’ve said here Mike. It won’t be easy, but it is imperative. We should definitely talk. I have a solution. Check out our stack.
Makes sense, though to be honest I didn't think any of us on Substack were really anonymous. Good to know that we are at least to some degree.
Personally, I've always hated social media and thus never engaged with it. I have never been on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or whatever else is out there. I see it as a time suck, a data collection machine, a loss of privacy, and often a cesspool. Substack is the first I've engaged with because I felt the need to get a variety of news, thoughts, and analyses.
If I am indeed anonymous here, I will be very content to remain that way. My presence on the streets, where I have been spending a lot of my time, is where my courage lies. I don't feel the need to show courage here, sorry.
But I do understand the desire to know who you are communicating with. I guess you could look at it as being a professor at a very large University where you look out into the auditorium and, even by the end of the semester, you have no fucking idea what the names of all the students are, lol!
Anyway, I appreciate all you do here and will continue reading...and commenting when the mood strikes me!

I sincerely and genuinely thank you for your service to our nation, Ethan.
Support you in this decision 100 percent. Keep up the good work.
As someone who is fairly private I have struggled with this, but have been leaning in this direction lately.
There’s truly no anonymous posts for Feds
That is an entirely fair decision on your part.
I've made mine and I accept the consequences.

I agree, and appreciate you taking the first step to lead the way on this for others to follow.
I completely agree on this.
I’m on bluesky under my own name for the same reason.
You are one of my torchlights in these bewildering times and I appreciate and promote your posts where I can
Substack is the only site I feel comfortable using my real name. Everything else sucks.

Glad to see you drawing the line

Totally support your speaking of truth to power...
Speak the truth. Actively listen with open mind. Do not be afraid to change your mind. Be loyal to the truth, not a narrative.
