Time is well past a palace revolt, with Hillbilly as the promotor and benefactor...if the status quo is allowed to persist another two-and-half years, his political future is DOA, and that of his party. Has that opportunity really eluded Hillbilly, or can he regroup and assemble allies to invoke the 25th?

The 25th is, I'd suggest, the last arrow in the quiver; his "do or die" moment. If he takes the King down, the sky is the limit. But if he fails, it's back to the hinterland for him (I doubt Thiel and the tech-bros will take him back into their fold).

Well, certainly if not Hillbilly, someone or some insiders, civilian or military, must soon make a move, as this fucked-up, psychotic individual is leading this country into further calamity from which the numerous fallouts are incalculable.

This series of analysis is some of the finest forensics I’ve encountered on this terribly toxic moment of US political history. Thank you.

I don't think it's blindness exactly, its the establishments own immune response for power preservation-no one ever gave up power voluntarily. Even if they chose to give some crumbs to preserve some power in the new system, it would still be a net power loss to them. Sad reality for the rest of us, but also clarifying

Isn't Trump's blockade kind of silly? Blockading a strait that Iran won't let anyone go through just looks like Trump trying too hard. Are the blockading ships within missile or drone range of Iran, in case Iran wants to let a Chinese ship through? What about Iran's fast little boats that can swarm a much larger ship and take it down using their guns and drones? Sounds to me like Trump doesn't have the cards.

You assume Trump acts from a place of strategic calculation. This is an erroneous assumption.
